DAY 3 UPDATEA

Today was the first full day of working. The day started off in an interesting way. On our way in we had a flat tire in our tap-tap and had to pull into the middle of the road and wait for our driver to go and get another tire and change it out. Once we got there we were greeted by a mass of kids and their parents who were all excited for us to be back.

We started off the day with VBS. We started the VBS by introducing ourselfs to the kids and telling them the story of Christ. After the story we sang a couple of songs with them. They thought we were crazy doing our hand motions with the songs, they just pointed and laughed at us. Then we brought out the coloring books and the cryaons to let all of the kids color. We also bounced around a giant beach ball with the kids they had a blast.

After the hour of VBS we started up the clinic and tearing down the wall. We checked out 30 kids/parents today in the clinic. We helped them with their problems and prayed with them. Some of the guys worked with on tearing down the bathroom wall so that we can start rebuilding it. Tomorrow we are goin to finish seeing the rest of the people at the clinic and get the supplies and start building the wall back up.

Thank you for the updates. I would have commented sooner, but I have been out of town. Anne’s mom passed away last night so I went to be with Anne and comfort her as she has been taking care of her mom. My wife had the honor of being there ad whispering to her mother, “”Run to Jesus mom, He is waiting for you…”
I am in awe of the grace of God to carry my wife along to care and love and encourage.
I pray for each one of you that you walk in that same faith and courage in Haiti – looking in every eye – speaking to evry heart, “Run to Jesus my friend… run to Jesus…”

    Love and grace,

Praying for you and thinking of you often throughout the day. What a cool day today sounded like. I bet it was so fun to watch the kid’s reactions thinking you were crazy. :) I can just hear Kris’ laughter while I imagine that time. Keep up the good work. You are spreading God’s love and hope. May you continue to have strength and protection.
