Day1 was acclimation day for us. The local World Hope Staff International (WHI) made us feel very welcomed. After dropping off relief supplies at WHI Hdqtrs we took a long ride thru Port Au Prince and saw the devastation first hand. Amazing…eye opening experience! We then checked into the WHI compound and had lunch and relaxed while trying to stay hydrated in 90+ temps. Beautiful sunny day here. Before dinner we had a nice hike through the neighborhood tent village and shared many hellos and smiles. This was the best part of the day! Rick, Cheryl was a trooper on the hike! We also played soccer, jumped rope and Jeff had a Creole language lesson by 7 year old Katrina. (See pic. Attached) tomorrow we plan to go to a damaged Weseyland Church for repair work and kids VBS time.
