| Serving is very important to us at Daybreak. We believe it is a way to show the love of Christ to a hurting world. James 2:14 says that faith without good works is dead and useless. Here are some ways we serve at Daybreak. |

| SECOND SATURDAY SERVE Second Saturday Serve is an opportunity for you to get out to serve with your family or Venture group in the Greater Grand Rapids area. It is only 3 hours a month but we can make a big difference as a church in 3 hours! | FOOD DRIVE As demand for food deepens through out the area many local food pantries are wondering if they are going to be able to help the community. Daybreak collects food three times a year to distribute to people who need a little extra help in these hard times. All food collected is donated to local food banks. Our next collection date will be in September 2010. | COMMUNITY BLITZ This is a one day, once a year event where we invite people from the community to come into Daybreak for clothing they may need, and for a free meal and groceries . We also send groups out into the community to serve others by painting, raking or other small odd jobs. We just want to be a blessing where ever a need arises. There are many areas where you can help serve behind the scene or on the front lines. |

| HEARTSIDE BBQ We hosted a party at Heartside Park in Grand Rapids in May 2010. We served a great lunch to show the homeless they are loved. Check back to find out when we will do this again. “We are all called upon to do small things with great love.” – Mother Teresa | ANGEL TREE Right now, an estimated 1.5 million children have a mom or dad in prison. Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. At Christmas time, volunteers form Daybreak purchase and deliver gifts to the children of inmates in their parents name. Each gift delivery also presents an opportunity to share the love and hope of Christ. | OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Daybreak families spend time packing shoe boxes each year in October. |
