HAITI DAY 6

As usual, our host Thony started is off with a team breakfast, then it was a trip up into the mountains to put on a day camp with a tent community at the top of one of those mountains. It was a beautiful, steep climb. Once again, Aimee and Brooke put together an amazing program. We were a bit surprised to find around 150 kids waiting for us. We sang, acted out the Daniel and the Lion’s den story, then worked with the kids in small groups. We ended the day with a not of sight-seeing and a hrrat opportunity to listen to Thony’s story.

HAITI DAY 5

We again had a great start to the morning… Personal and group devotion time that was amazing. Our team has meshed together and had an amqzing time of growth.
After arriving at the work site we quickly began to construct the door to the storage building. Justin and Mark added their superior engineering to the frame and we were complete! Aimee and Brooke did a brilliant program with all of the children. They were acting, teaching and leading with great love and care.

HAITI DAY 4

Today started out with all of us having a quiet devotional time before heading out. We stopped at a lumber store to pick up supplies in order to build a 16X16 storage shed on the church property. We got to City Solei and followed Mark’s excellent blueprint to set posts and begin to add siding. Aimee and Brooke ran a day camp with the children while Justin, Mark, Caleb and Jeff continued building. There was time for conversations, fun and working together with ideas. Dinner with Thony was great and he is an amazing host. Pray we finish the project and help people here!

HAITI DAY 3

Day 3
We hit the ground running this morning clearing the rest of the property and church in City Solei. The sun was blazing but we had great team work between us and the Haitians that we worked with. Everyone poured their hearts into the work and yet there was still laughter, conversations, and a lot of fun. Of the highlights one was taking down one of the tents that a daybreak team put up last year and using it to wrap around the structure of the new church. The pastor of the church stood by watching us, elated that his church was finally being completed. We fell in love with a little Haitian girl named Valentina who always had a smile on her face and distracted Aimee, Brooke, and Caleb from work. After a long hard day of work we all got together to play a nice relaxing game of monkey in the middle soccer. Then at night we had the privilege to eat dinner andpray for Dave and Beth Waters as it was there last night in Haiti.

HAITI DAYS 1AND 2

Day 1
We arrived safely in Haiti. Settled into our host home and got ready for a day of work. Had a great time traveling together.
Day2
We got to the work site where WHI is going to build a school. The amount of rubble on the lot was overwhelming but through the day with the help of some Haitian locals we cleared the entire lot. PTL! We had fun with the Haitians, occasionally stopping to dance, sing, and arm wrestle. The spirit was ecstatic. We were baked by the 100 degree sun but glad God used us. We will try to finish the lot tomorrow and have it ready for the school to begin being built. Keep is in your prayers… Love to all.

ZAMBIA DAY 6??????????????

Today we made the 1 1/2 hour trip to Chilineline. We were greated by the church pastor who took us on a tour of his church and where they would like to build a pre school And teacher house. We then went back and gave the children coloring crans and paper and drew pictures of anything that came to mind. We then had a ceremony where we gave blankets to 18 families.Soccer balls beachballs, also the rest of the school supplies.Sheema cabbage chicken. After the GREAT lunch we left our new friends and made the trip back to the guest house where we debiefed. It has been an awesome four days of visits. The big 8 signing off.
P.S. We visited the water hole where they draw their cooking and drinking water. It was an emotional experience to watch the women carry 40 lbs of water on their head approx. 8 times a day back to the village.
