After a very long day we completed the renovations on “Madam Michele’s” restaurant.We handed her the keys to the padlock and prayed over her. We said our goodbye’s to the Haitian work team that helped us build the wall around the compound.We had dinner and a moonlight swim and are getting ready for devotions. We are packing up tonight. We are looking forward to Church service at 7 am tomorrow followed by a bus ride back to Port au Prince where we will tour the devastation and sleep at World Hope headquarters in air conditioning.!! Monday morning we go to the airport for our flight at noon and we will be back state side Monday afternoon in Miami. Pray for our safe travels home.

We are still suffering communication errors and are trying to blog but can only get the blogs through phone calls.We continue to work on it. In the space of two days the team has decided to rebuild a local restaurant. It is located on the corner of our compound and is run by a woman named Madam Michele. We have gone there for lunch and decided to help her rebuild the restaurant because it was half fallen down from the earthquake. The cement block walls in the back of the building were rebuilt and extended and the front walls redone. Extending the walls has doubled the size of the restaurant.

Many friendships have been made with many of the interpreters and the Haitian construction workers. We have been playing with the kids alot. There are 400 students here. Harvey & Bob jumped roped with the girls yesterday.We played soccer with the boys. The kids are great !!

Our time here is coming to a close and we are trying to wrap up projects before heading home. Our last workday is tomorrow.Sunday we will attend church service and probably play with the kids .Monday morning is our bus ride back to Port au Prince and we fly home. We will try to blog one more time but if not ,thanks for all the prayers for the team.Please continue to pray for our safe return and for the people of Haiti.

This morning started with bright sunshine and ended with a swim !! Today the team helped assemble new columns for the new wall.This evening some of the team played basketball with the kids and we enjoyed dinner together.We are looking forward  to starting new friendships again tomorrow.

We made it back to Fort Lauderdale with a 6 hour layover. Nice to be home and eating Pizza again! Love the May Haiti Team.

We just attended the Wesleyan Church service in City Soleil under the big tent with about 110+ worshipers. (See attachment) We came in late due to traffic again and they had the first row bench reserved for us. It was a special service and they paused several times to recognize us. These people can really sing! I think the tent will be filled soon if they keep that up since the neighbors would no problem hearing them. Gotta run its time to go Art shoping and out to dinner tonight and then enjoy AC sleeping for the first time. Early morning 7:30 flight to Ft. Lauderdale is not too far away. We went back to the City Soleil Wesleyan Church and School for our final day of service. We wanted to finish putting up the last corner of the new tent. But before we could install the final 3 tent posts we had to clear more ruble from what used to be the 2nd floor church. We experienced the same slow painful work effort that hundreds of thousands went through after the quake by removing 1 broken concrete chunk at a time. The ladies swept the tent floor parking lot and all the church benches were put in place. The Church is now ready for Sunday School and Big Church tomorrow. Our team will spend the Sabbath Day worshiping with the. It will be our Creole Church service that should be interesting. The special part of the day was when we were leaving the head School master had the combined Daybreak and Wesleyan team hold hands and thanked us for 10 minutes and read 1 Corinthians 15 verse 58. This was truly a God moment sense it was the exact same verse I read to our Daybreak team yesterday morning before breakfast. Tonight after a very long ride back through the crowded streets of Port au Prince we played with the neighborhood children. We were so excited to learn the “Americans” would have time for them tonight. Tons of smiles and laughter made it a great way to end the day. Tomorrow after church we will go shopping and have dinner with Thony the WHI Director and then stay at their headquarters near the airport. We miss all of you!

We spent the day at the Wesleyan Church/School again. They received a huge circus type tent and they asked our Daybreak team to set it up. After 2 hours of mapping everything out and putting the corner posts in we asked the Haitian Church members to help us drive stakes, tie ropes to secure everything and finally put the two tall center poles in place. There were high fives and hugs everywhere under the big top after it finally rose to the sky! The 25 person tent raising team picture shows the love and new family relationship we now share with each other. We are so lucky to have experienced this today! The church and school now have again a spot to worship and a shady and dry place to have school. Our prayers were answered today when God helped us raise this tent. Hopefully Sunday we can join them too for Sunday service and party with them! 95 and sunny again today. A lot of water and iced Cokes are survival liquids this week Thanks for the great comments everyday we love them. Sorry no picture to attach today since our house has no electric all week and my BlackBerry died. Maybe I will sleep better tonight last night a little black goat was baa baa. baa ing all night under my window…God bless our family and friends!

We had another great day at the Wesleyan Church and school. We finished demolition of the 2nd floor church building. Big Dale was awesome with the new sledge hammers we donated! We spent a lot of time with school kids playin games, doing the Hokey Pokey and Chicken dances to name a couple…Duck duck goose was a hit! Judging from the laughter and excitement it may have been the first time they experienced this game and saw crazy white people running too as a goose. They also like making bead bracelets too. Back at the compound we had a great feast to celebrate our day and we watch a neighbood soccer game using a new ball we supplied. Those guys are good! Tomorrow we are going to a new refugee tent city. Pray for us that we can brighten these kids day tomorrow. Also pray that aid and more volunteers continue to come into this country of beautiful people. We are also going to try and raise a new large tent back at the Wesleyan church that will be used to provide shelter for church services. They are very excited about this!
